The Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk' Search Utility is used to locate patients whose pneumonia vaccination is due.

Note: The settings below are also used to determine for which patients the Pneumococcal Disease Vaccination prompt appears.

Risk Groups

>= 65 years.

ATSI patients >= 50 years.

Aged >= 18 Years with Specified Conditions (the 'Specified Conditions' become available for selection once this check box is ticked).

Booster for Children Aged 4-18 years with Specified Conditions (the 'Specified Conditions' become available for selection once this check box is ticked).

Specified Conditions

These check boxes are only available if you have selected either the option 'Aged >= 18 Years with Specified Conditions' or 'Booster for Children Aged 14-18 years with Specified Conditions' in the Risk Groups section.

Specified Conditions fall under the recommendations for Pneumococcal Disease classifications; See Reference - Pneumococcal Disease Search - Specific Disease Criteria for more information.

Exclusions:

Selecting any of these options excludes a patient from the Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk' search or prompt, even if they fulfil a positive criterion elsewhere on this window.

Exclude with an Allergy to Pneumovax 23

Exclude with an Allergy containing 'PNEUMOVAX' or starting with 'PNEUMOCOCCAL'.

Exclude with a Pneumovax 23 vaccination in the last 5 years

Within the last 5 years from today's date

Exclude who have ever declined a Pneumovax 23 Vaccination

You can indicate that a patient has declined the vaccination when the vaccination prompt appears on opening their record.

Exclude who have already received the expected maximum adult doses of Pneumovax 23

The maximum adult dose is calculated using the greater of; depending on the risk group the patient fills.

  • Patients >=65

  • Senior Patients with Specified Conditions (Patients >=65 or ATSI Patients >=50)

Note: Only doses given from the patients age of 15 are considered for the Max Adult Doses

Note: Specified Conditions, for Max Dose, are only evaluated if that criteria group is checked for inclusion in the search.

For example:

  • A patient aged >=65 with Asthma will have a max dose of 1 if only the Patients >=65 risk group is selected

  • A patient aged >=65 with Asthma will have a max dose of 3 if the Patients aged >=18 with Specified conditions - Asthma is selected.

Exclude who choose to be Excluded from Pneumococcal Disease 'At Risk'

As determined via the  Pneumococcal Disease Vaccination Prompt settings.
