MedicalDirector Clinical provides easy access to The Cochrane Library online resources from within the patient's Clinical Window via Resources > Cochrane Library. Access to the web site requires an active Internet connection.
 

Department of Veterans' Affairs

Clinical provides a convenient link directly to the Department of Veterans' Affairs web site for Service Providers, from within the patient's Clinical Window via Resources > Dept. Vet Affairs. Access to the web site requires an active Internet connection.

DOCLE

Menu Path: Resources > What's New in DOCLE

DOCLE is a coding system (based on the Linnaean coding and classification system) used to standardise data entry, help ensure consistency and provide a base for use with Drug Interactions and Searching. Clinical uses a part of the DOCLE coding system to record diagnosis and later to search the database. MedicalDirector Clinical uses only the list of medical diagnosis at the species level and synonyms to simplify the process of entering details of a diagnosis. See DOCLE for more information.

MDref

MDRef is Clinical's drug database. The MDref Explorer interface allows you to;

Search for and view detailed information about each drug,

View related Product Information,

Check for interactions,

Examine alternatives,

Access Pregnancy Codes and notes for medications, and

Prescribe.

Medline (PubMed)

Clinical provides a link to the online PubMed resource - a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 17 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles.

Patient Education

Clinical provides a large variety of Clinical and Health-related Education Leaflets for you to print and distribute to patients. These, and customised leaflets that you add to the collection are available via the Leaflet Browser.

Product Information

Clinical is supplied with a Product Information database containing full Product Information (PI) for the majority of drug entries in the MDref database. Consumer Medicine Information (CMI ) produced by the various Pharmaceutical companies is also included for many of the drugs in MDref. This information can be distributed to patients as printed handouts.
 

Travel Medicine

Clinical provides a simple mechanism for determining the vaccinations recommended for travel to numerous countries, filtered by length-of-stay. From the Travel Medicine window you can also access travel information provided by M.A.S.T.A. (Medical Advisory Services for Travellers Abroad) and the Pocket Guide (travel information provided by The Travel Clinic). See Travel Medicine for more information.
